The reigning European champions are the only team with four points, giving them the best chance of advancing to the knockout stage as group winners. Despite Uruguay still searching for their first win after two matchdays and falling far short of their potential against both Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde, Marcelo Bielsa's team doesn't appear to be without a chance against one of the hottest favorites for the World Cup title. If Cape Verde win against Saudi Arabia in the other match, Uruguay would drop to third place and have to look elsewhere for qualification. This is something they absolutely want to avoid.
